This ancient Egyptian unit showcases my ability to utilize technology, enhancing class discussions, and creating a communicative environment that engages all students. I focused on reducing cognitive load in the classroom, while maximizing the germane load to help students connect new concepts to existing schemas. I utilized the TPACK framework (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) and focused on how to teach with technology by combining content and pedagogy. This video and blog solidify my beliefs about the educational process, while I demonstrated the significance of applying technology tools purposefully, recognizing when technology can assist or impede the success of learning goals, and continually adapting to changes in technology.

This research-based essay highlights my understanding of knowledge transfer, how it occurs, and how teachers can promote it in their classrooms. I provide realistic strategies and tools to help teachers facilitate and foster students' transfer of knowledge. For example, I believe students’ learning and thinking must be visible. I researched digital tools to help check for understanding and alter instruction in real-time, which fosters the transfer of knowledge.

This lesson plan I designed showcases my abilities to purposefully utilize Universal Design for Learning principles and provide interactive experiences, with real-life connections to historical places. Using Google Expedition and VR goggles, students are challenged to apply historical inquiry and analysis to study a soldier’s life in World War I, through a virtual reality experience. This lesson plan is an enriched learning opportunity for all types of learners.

In this blog, I highlight my educational leadership strengths by presenting my five-year vision plan for schools. This plan exhibits my beliefs and knowledge about purposeful and responsible technology integration practices. The approaches I discuss foster an evolved pedagogy, including student-centered learning, innovative thinking, and a competent digital citizenship environment. I believe schools must move past the goal of learning how to use the technologies and instead concentrate on valuable integration practices.

The video highlights what guides my decision-making when leading and discusses my leadership values and skills. Successful Learning in the Classroom |
I developed this Nearpod presentation for teacher professional development (PD). This PD showcases my knowledge about successful learning in the classroom using the cognitive perspective theory and my ability to implement research-based methods into an informative PD session. This experience was an opportunity for me to design a valuable PD session. I provided opportunities for educators to demonstrate understanding and challenged them to make personal connections between the cognitive learning theory and their own lives.
